Apple is making one of its favourite gadgets of 2019 even more likeable to its customers. With the launch of the second generation AirPods known as AirPods Pro, the Cupertnino-based company is now offering its customers a chance to personalise both their AirPods and AirPods Pro charging cases with larger texts and select emojis for the first time. What’s more? Apple will not be charging any extra amount for your customisations.
“New personal engraving options, from A to emoji” states Apple in a new banner featured on the home page of its website. You can now customize AirPods in the Apple Online Store through the “Personalize it for free” option that appears when you select the earphones. Once you select the option, the website tells you, “Engrave an emoji, name, initials, phone number, or date. Only at Apple.” This essentially means that the option is available exclusively for online buying.
However, there are some limitations to it. You may not be given choices to get your AirPods or AirPods Pro charging case be engraved in the emoji of your choice. Apple offers a list of more than 30 options, including the most popular ones like the smiling face, heart, unicorn, ghost, cat, alien, and others. Apart from the emojis, you may also getname, initials, date or phone number engraved on your device’s case.
As mentioned earlier, the offer is completely free of cost and is exclusively available online. The offer right now is available in United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, Japan, and a few other countries where iPhone maker can exercise direct online sale.
As Apple does not sell its products directly to its Indian customers, they still have to wait. Currently, Apple sells its products in India through third party resellers but this will change soon. According to a Bloomberg report published last year, the Cupertino-based company is poised to start online sales of its devices in the country within months as India recently eased rules that forced companies such as Apple to source 30% of their production locally to include exports as part of the requirement.
