Toyota is all set to make its presence at the Auto Expo a memorable affair by showcasing some of the best jewels from its global lineup, some of which are meant for the Indian market. The Auto Expo 2023 might be witnessing fewer participants than before, but the lineup announced by Toyota for the biggest auto exhibition in India is something worth watching.
The show-stopper from Toyota at the Auto Expo 2023 will be the mammoth Land Cruiser 300, which is set to become the most expensive Toyota product to go on sale in India. The Toyota Land Cruiser 300 is the flagship SUV from the Japanese marquee, and the Indian car market is set to receive it in a fully-loaded trim with a 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 diesel engine. It means that the 3.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine has been given a miss by the Indian car market.

The Toyota Land Cruiser 300 was already open for bookings for a few months, and the waiting period for the SUV is only becoming longer with more bookings pouring in. Another global star from Toyota to mark its presence at the Auto Expo 2023 is the GR Corolla performance-oriented hatchback.
With the GR Corolla, Toyota will highlight its Gazoo Racing division of performance cars for the first time in India, which also includes icons like the GR Supra. However, the GR Corolla will just be there for public display, with no intention of a possible launch in India. This performance hatchback is available with a 1.6-litre 304 bhp turbocharged petrol engine.
Toyota will import a limited number of Land Cruiser LC300 in its ‘Sahara’ version to India. Aimed at offering a good mix of luxury and comfort, the Sahara version of Land Cruiser LC300 is expected to come in nine colour options, bi-LED projector headlamps, LED tail lamps, 18-inch machined alloy wheels and chrome finish on the front grille, window frames, rear bumper, outside rearview mirrors and door handles.
Toyota promoting alternative fuels
Toyota is one of the front-runners of alternative fuel technologies in India, with its hybrid offerings like Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Camry and Vellfire already being successful products in the Indian context. Some of its other globally-available hybrid, plug-in hybrid and fuel-cell electric vehicles, like the all-new Prius, Mirai FCEV and Corolla flex-fuel hybrid will be present at the Auto Expo 2023. It is also expected that Toyota will launch the CNG-powered version of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder, the bookings for which are already underway at Toyota’s authorized dealer outlets.
Apart from these models which are et not on sale in India, Toyota will also showcase its entire Indian lineup, including Glanza, Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Camry, Fortuner, Fortuner Legender, Vellfire and the recently-launched Innova Hycross. It is also expected that Toyota might showcase the Innova Crysta in a tweaked form, which will make its comeback with the 2.4-litre diesel engine option and will be available only in lower-spec variants for fleet operators.
